What Is “Savage” Strength & Why Do You Need It?

As Told To Critical Bench by Mike Gillette

In preparing for this book project, I reached straight for Webster’s Dictionary.  The reason was to provide a clear frame of reference regarding my ideas about strength so that everyone can understand them.

So here is what Webster’s says about strength, what it means to me, and how I apply it in the real world…

First and foremost, strength is defined as “the state of being strong.”  This makes sense, right?  But the definition expands from there, stating “the power of resisting attack… impregnability.”

But what does that mean specifically?  Well, start by thinking about the word ‘impregnability’ and imagine having the ability to resist attack and go from there.  Think for a moment about the sorts of things that you actually are attacked by.

You get ‘attacked’ by other people’s attitudes and situational circumstances.  And of course you can also be attacked by actual hostile aggression.

There’s an old expression; “Weakness invites tyranny.” While that expression is actually about politics, this same idea plays out on the street all the time.  We might refer to this as ‘the politics of the street’.  It’s the whole bully dynamic where a bully perceives weakness in another person.  This perceived weakness emboldens a bully and causes him to harass or even attack the other person.

But strength introduces stability into a situation… It calms things down.

Strength often prevents the different kinds of attacks that you experience every day.  Now let’s look at another example…

Strength also provides the power to resist stress, meaning it promotes what I refer to as ‘durability’.  What kinds of stress are we talking about?

Well there’s physical stresses such as discomfort, illness or fatigue and even emotional stress.  And if you think about the words I just listed, they are all in opposition to the very idea of strength.  They literally sound like opposite terms.

But possessing strength is what allows you to handle those things, to be durable.   Strength is also about the capacity for effective action, we can call this a ‘show of strength’.  Remember what I just said about perceived weakness and how it invites trouble?

Well projecting the capacity for effective action, really projecting it, can make trouble go away.  Now this is fundamentally different than puffing out your chest and acting like a jerk.  That kind of thing invites trouble.

People who do that are actually projecting insecurity or instability. Those things never calm a situation down.  A strong man doesn’t have to do anything, and often doesn’t even have to say anything.  He settles things down simply by showing up.

And if the other people around him decide to make poor life choices..?  Well, those choices may require some effective action.  A strong man can deliver that action but he doesn’t do it out of anger and he doesn’t do it out of an inability to control his emotions.

A strong man simply does what needs to be done.

There’s an old Samurai saying that speaks to this, which states; “Only the strong can show mercy.”  This is absolutely true.  Mercy, which is a pretty noble quality, can only come from someone who is strong.

If you are weak, the best you could do is beg for mercy.  And I don’t think anyone reading this wants to be a weak person.

The last thing that Webster’s says about this subject and this is really important, is that having strength means having the ability to maintain a moral or intellectual position firmly.  Now think about that for a moment.

In this day and age… so enlightened and politically correct, almost nobody is willing take a stand or actually stand for anything.  We’re so concerned about being tolerant that we tolerate almost anything.

It’s a rare person anymore who maintains their own ethics and their own sense of morality, and it takes strength to do that, real strength.

If I were to be lucky enough to win, the Savage Strength would give me a tool to guide my training. It would provide the focus, the encouragement, and guidance to achieve my goals. The Strength To Be Strong!

So rather than just trying to do all the right stuff at the gym, I would know I am following a program that has been proven by others. It would provide me the additional confidence to know that if I followed the program I should be able to achieve and see the results of my efforts.

    Many Thanks.

i want to be STRONG, SUPER STRONG, SAVAGELY STRONG.
However many of the programs out there dont really seem like they will do that for me.

After seeing the video of this guy, I IMMEDIATELY thought to myself…… THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED.
I am 16 years old, and for 15 years of my life i was fat and weak and people even my parents made fun of me.
This is why i want to be STRONG, SUPER STRONG, SAVAGELY STRONG.

As a 38 year old father of two and owner of two successful businesses, strength means even more than your definition outlined in the article. Strength is a state of mind. It is the foundation that makes everything fall into place. Whether it be dealing with business or family, without stregnth, you would not have the ability to commit 100 percent to being great. Physical strength is just one piece of that mountain, but like the mental aspect, without it success is almost impossible.

I think that this would be an ideal fit for me because I work in the hospital field in the city where I live. I currently am an enrolled in the nursing program at my local community college. Upon graduation as a nurse I plan on applying as a RN at the county run prison. I think that buy having the great information that you pass on to tour followers would allow me to have savage strengthening that would definitely benefit me in that type of working environment. I would really leave my family with the thought that I would not have to beg for mercy in that type of workplace.

I think the Savage Strength Training System will be an ideal fit for me because I would like to be able to 1) calm a situation down, as well as 2) possess power to resist stress. As things are currently, I have way too much stress and am not able to maintain a moral or intellectual position firmly, which I find to be crucial to live a healthy lifestyle.

This would be the ideal fit for me as I have been training my lovly wife for 2 years in preparation for he first figure competition Jan 28th 2012. As a former bodybuilder I know the dedication it takes to compete at your best. I also am keenly aware that strenght is an essential part of the winning combination. Muslce Mass grows by stimulating the muslce however muscle also adapts so it is only thru a combination of strenght training and bodybuilding training that we can achieve our goals in competitive body building. Savage Strenght will become the most important tool in our tool box for not only this competition but for future events as we prepare –we have to mix it up meaning we need to change our routins. Savage Strenght will become part of our short term and long term workout cycle and we intend to use it and share the results with you and your audience. Take Care and Best of Success to you and everyone out there that dares to compete.

I completely agree with being strong not only physically but mentally as well is very beneficial to the well being of an individual being strong isn’t just about how much you can bench press or squat but its how you carry yourself and how others perceive you. I myself must maintain physical and mental strength in the line of work I’m currently in and plan to be in for my career which is law enforcement. I do beleive that having the physical and mental strength to handle stressful situations to everyday life situations is very important and I think I could and would love to be a candidate to receive this program I think this will broaden my perspectives on not only fitness but everyday life. Most of my life I have been athletic and in shape. 3 years ago I started feeling tired and just couldn’t keep up like I used to. Initially I chalked this up to getting old (53 yo) but eventually figured out it was more than that–I had lymphoma that was fairly advanced. Well after 6 months of intense chemnotherapy and two more years of maintenance chemotherapy, I was doing okay. But I was wiped out more than I ever had been-barely able to do a single pull-up. So I started trying to get it back–I did the Perfect Push-Ups and some running. As I got stronger, I graduated to P90X and loved it–it really helped me get back alot but I worried about its sustainability over time. I tried the Primal BluePrint Fitness for awhile and then went back for some more P90X. Currently, I am doing CrossFit and really enjoy it; but really am looking to increase my strength–both physically and mentally– as I continue to get older. I figure the stronger I am, the better I can continue to fight off my lymphoma.
    Thanks so much.

The first rule of survival is self protection… You need strength to accomplish this. There is much to be said for training and the benefits it has upon ones own person. Stronger body, reduced stress, better quality of life as well as relieving depression ect ect. … But the increased ability to protect and provide for family and tribe. To me this will be another tool to teach individuals how to help themselves in every way from, physical, mental, spiritual, or even freaking political.
Many of the founding fathers were considered savages during their own day…. “…don’t need a king…..”,”…………. rule yourselves….” “how ludicrous” ….. Really it takes hard men and women physically and mentally strong. to stand in any time of need…. ARE YOU READY. No more excuses, no more crying, no more pity parties… It’s your life JUST LVIT……

I always thought I was fairly strong untill being moved to a different position at work. The new job role requires alot more strengh for all the lifting, from ground to overhead positions. I have started going to a gym to improve my strengh overall to help with this, and have realised I need not only become physically strong but to become mentally strong as well. I believe the ‘The Savage Strengh Training System’ will help me to achieve both of these goals.

What does real strength mean to me…

My name is Demetrius and what real strength means to me is having a presence, that others know you won”t tolerate any B.S. that you have the strength to protect the ones you care for.

Having real strength means you know how to handle the situations when the storm comes, knowing you have the strength to endure and overcome all obstacles in your life. Having real strength is having confidence in your ability to survive in this tough uphill battle we call life to be at your peak at all times and ready for all situations.

I need this strength because right now I am at a very low point in my life I don’t where to turn or who to go to. I don’t want to always rely on others or have others feel sorry for me. I want to be comfortable in the uncomfortable when those times come and that I know what to do in these tough times. Regardless of my situation I want to discover my strength so I can have something that I don’t think I ever experienced before and that’s confidence.

I want to be that person that has that presence among people where the weak and strong can exist together where someone like myself can help others get strong like what you guys do for people everyday. I want to experience the freedom of being my best self I no longer want to be a victim of my circumstances I want to overcome them.

“Tough times never last, but tough people do” – Robert H. Schuller

Thank you for taking the time to read this I actually enjoyed writing this I haven’t dug that deep in a long time I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did typing it.

As I placed the barbell loaded with weight on the ground after doing shrugs this I morning, I paused and looked at the rusted iron bar. I remembered something I had read a few days ago; “don’t just lift iron, become iron.” At first I thought it was a great saying but after looking at the rust for a full minute, I realized it wasn’t just enough to become iron, because iron can rust. I want to be something greater, stronger. After further thought, I came to the conclusion I would never truly be satisfied with how much weight I can lift. It’s not enough to just be able to impress people with what you bench or curl. What I want is “true” strength. After seeing the video of Mike Gillette bending the steel bar and “folding” the frying pan, I immediately knew what my goal was. I wanted not to impress others, but to impress myself, the way what I saw in the video impressed me.
The “Savage Strength System” is the only type of training I can see myself benefiting from. Although I love seeing Elliot’s videos and learning from his points of view, I don’t really care about making “lean hybrid muscle”, Making muscle is an art, but I don’t want to be an artist. I want to be a savage.

I was going to say that I wanted this program to build my physical strength and physique. But, reading through the article, I realized that physical strength isn’t the only thing that this program entails. A program to encompass strength on all three levels (physical, mental and emotional) would be very inviting. In my line of work (retail management) the amount of stress that comes at you from all angles can be overwhelming. At 44 years old, this can have adverse effects on body and health. Having this tool in my arsenel would help me not only physically but in the other two areas as well. I look forward to becoming completely strong through this plan.

I am a 46yr old man raising a 9 yr old son. I find the most difficult part of training is the lack of structure or regiment. I find myself getting confused with the bombardment of different theories one gets reading the magazines and online articles. It seems they just give you bits and pieces hoping that one will buy their programs and vitamins/supplements. In my opinion, this program must be pretty solid and sound that it could be received for no cost. I am looking for the ideal training program that I can get comfortable with and transition my son to it as he becomes old enough. The local trainors at my gym just put clients on the same cookie cutter programs, that show slow or no results.

A few of my loved ones and some friends passed away the past 4 years, just recently been laid off a job, having a few financial troubles, college grades are slipping, just having are hard time getting everything done that i need to do, and it keeps getting harder. But i never look at it as half empty, i always keep my head up. I know everything will get better in the long run. I may have to take a lot of crap, but what doesnt kill me only makes me stronger. I want this system because it will guide me to be even stronger than I am now, both inside and out.

After almost 30 years I reconnected with Mike and sat down and spent some time visiting with him over his life choices, crisis and action. I cannot express the conviction he showed when making the decisions to move on with his life be it from choices of action or accidents of fate. After watching Mike in action I made the decision to act upon his inspirational story. I have begun an excersize program and changed my lifestyle eating habits. in 9 weeks I have dropped 20 lbs and 5 % of my body fat. I have committed to this “changing lifestyle” and am seeing results from that commitment. I think this training will take me to the extreme in my workouts and styles of workouts. I have to keep moving up or I will simply move backwards.

since i was a little kid i had been a punchbag at school now i am in high school i have tried almost any new program out there in a hope for feeling strong.

as a result of me being a “punchbag” at school all the girls looked at me with the pitty which is a very unattractive trait in a guy i have no girlfriend because of that i am 18.

i dont just want to be physically strong but i want to be mentally strong too to take over the life rather than to let the life take over me.

Go to my Facebook page and read about my life growing up. Now after reading that, go watch that video again because I want you to realize that you CAN be as strong as you need to be, but YOU have to make it happen. Do the work and you WILL get there.

I fully subscribe to the belief that we must constantly strive to become the strongest version of ourselves as possible. So to me, savage strength starts in the mind, the ability to stick to our guns and not back down if we honestly believe our goals, ideas, opinions, beliefs are right and true. This extends from the well being of our families to our business endeavors and more…physically, being savagely strong enables us to excel at our sport, our personal confidence and pride. It also means we can protect our family, friends and ourselves if we should ever have to. So The Savage Strength System would be a perfect fit for me because it would be an extremely important tool in my arsenal to become the strongest version of myself.

I have never needed to be savagely strong before now. Growing up I had enough strength to get by and mostly used my ole noggin’ to avoid confrontation. This strategy worked well throughout my youth and early twenties dealing with ordinary men but I realize I am in decline and face future rivals of unknown brutality.

As a thirty five year old father of two growing boys I feel their power inching closer to challenging my dominance. I must now summon the savage strength from within to continue my reign and suppress their uprising. I have seen the future and they have been blessed with the taller and stronger genes of their grandfathers which so causally passed me over. I can feel an impending and imminent overthrow slowing working its way up and I say “NAY!” With the blessings of Critical Bench gods who shall bestow the powers of Savage Strength upon me I shall squash this threat.

Do I need six pack abs, ripped biceps, or a chiseled physique? Well, my wife might say yes but I say no. I need deep never ending savage strength that radiates from the gut and through every fiber in my body.

So shine down on me O’savage titans and bless my aging normality with the gift of savageness. That’ll surely teach a 5 and 3 year old they just have to wait till I’m an old crotchety man before they can take me on. Maybe not even then.

I have tired of being the one that is overlooked, the one who acquiesces to everyone else’s demands. Being tolerant and biding my time, both professionally and personally, has brought nothing more than resentment and the “emotional fatigue” that you mention in the article. It feels like an all-encompassing malaise that leaves me hurt and broken.
I believe that getting stronger, both mentally and physically, is the way out of this mess. I envision being the calm and confident one, the one who can overcome the daily grind instead of letting it rule my life. The one who can seize life by the scruff of the neck and give it a good shake instead of just waiting for the next time that it runs me over.

I believe that your Savage Strength system is the perfect starting point for my transformation. Thanks for this opportunity.

Good Evening Mike, I would love to win ( The Manifesto of Strength ). Growing up in the 60′s in NYC Lower East Side, drugs were every where, I was a very good athlete in school and at some point got coaxed into taking some pot and alcohol. I knew it was the wrong path for me. After high school in 1972 I joined the Marine Vetnam era, Over seas I was introduced to even more drugs. I Finished my tour and came back to NYC to find my old buddies and bagan a path of drugs again. Thanks to my good and strong family upbringing I had lots of support. I went to the VA hospital and got cleaned. I started workong for the Post Office and working nights I began to drink to much, Again I went and got help with the A.A. program… So many of my friends didn’t even knew I had a problem because I was aiways exercising and hid my problem well. Well it’s been 35 yreas since I have used hard drugs and 14 years since I have had a drink. I am 57 years old today retired 7 yrs now from the Post Office after 30 years. I have coached kids including my own 3 ( Son 30 yrs, Daughter 29 yrs, Son 14 yrs. ) ) in baseball, Basketball, Soccor Football and Strength Training. I have shown to myself and to Family and friends that the strength from within me has proven that if you want to chang you can..You have to want it. Today I exercise 6 days a week, follow your training e-mails Mike and I also listen to ( Elliott, Dave, Lee,Vince, and Travis ). This is the first time I opened up a can of worms but I am not embarrassed for I am a Warrior I have survived. If I do not win anything.. I know someone will be very happy to enjoy your books. Stay Strong, Live Strong and Grow Strong… Herc.

Hi my name is pedro. I am currently the 100% raw world champ with a 617lb bench press. No shirt, but also weight 400+ lbs and altho its helpful its not healthy I once contacted mike to ask how to get my bench up and he told me to keep doing what I’m doing. Problem is now not only do I wanna be strong I wanna look it and not just look big.I’m a personal trainer and sometimes I have problems getting client for the simple fact that ppl judge the book by its cover. I really feel that in order to have savage strength you must. Be strong, look strong, feel strong and be able to put out when asked or when needed to. So I think that I would make a great fit for this program bc I’m not gonna treat it as just a free gift I’m gonna use it to lose weight and get stronger. In which most ppl believe is I’m possible bc I’m going for at least a 100 lbs weight loss and I’m determined to keep my strength and even get stronger and leaner with out steriods I just need the right program. Thanks

“Weakness invites tyranny” – that pretty much summarizes my 41 years on this earth.
From the schoolyard, to the office, to the bedroom…my lack of fortitude has been the most detrimental flaw in my character. Now, with a lackluster career and my marriage in ruins, I have embarked on a quest to become a stronger individual; both PHYSICALLY and PERSONALLY.

Almost a year to the date that my wife moved on, I am reading this article and thinking that this is what I need in order to help push me harder towards my goal. I have been going to the gym with firm determination for ten months and the results are good. I am getting compliments and feel better. But I want MORE. I don’t want to settle for good when I can be GREAT.

I want to push myself to gain that strength of which you speak and I’ve craved all my life. That confidence of a man who walks tall and isn’t hunched over beneath the weight of his insecurities. To be able to walk into a crowded room and get stares for being a rock, not a puddle of jello. To ease the stress of life off my shoulders with a confident smile. To not be afraid. To be happy with myself.

The Savage Strength program is made for me, and with the bulk of my income being consumed by the kids and the divorce, WINNING the program would be a dream come true.

Strength means to me being able to execute, having sufficient, vigor, character, integrity, power and determination to get done what needs to be done, to accomplish what is right. I have a personal story that illustrates the correlation between rightness and strength.

I live in LA and years ago I witnessed someone breaking into a car on the block where I worked. I went inside to have the police called. When I went back out to the street the guys were gone. I heard that the gentleman whose car was broken into lost hundreds of dollars worth of stereo equipment. There was security footage but nothing that could ID the criminals and I had not been close enough to see what they looked like.

Technically I probably did the right thing by not charging into a situation where I could have been hurt but this left an unfavorable impression on me. I felt awful that I hadn’t stopped the crime; I didn’t feel able to do anything about it. I didn’t feel afraid, I felt unable actually effectively back those guys off. It’s not that I would be unwilling to approach them and tell them to stop but they could easily have shoved me around, gotten what they wanted and left.

I never want to feel like that again. I’m stronger now but I want to be truly strong, able to confront and deal with whatever situation comes up effectively to a result that I know is right.

Fire and wind come from the sky… from the gods of the sky. But strength is our god….and he lives in the earth. Once giants lived on the earth. And in the darkness of chaos, they fooled our god…and they took from him the enigma of strength. Our god was angered, and the earth shook. And fire and wind struck down these giants and threw their bodies into the waters. But in his rage, he forgot the secret of strength on the battlefield. Men found it. Not gods, not giants…just men. And the secret of strength has always carried with it a mystery. We must learn it. We must learn its discipline. For no one, no one in this world can we trust. Not men, not women, not beasts. Strength…we can trust. What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you…and to hear the lamentation of their women. To conquer this our strength must be ferocious….merciless….vicious….SAVAGE!!!

Usually people pump their program up about being massive, and freaky strong, but your angle of being subtly assertive through strength training really struck a chord with me. I’m coming to a point in my life where protecting the girl I love is my first priority, if I can do that better through your system, particularly in a subtle calm manner (suits my personality), then my interest is peaked. Mike, I am a 53-year old father of two boys, 7 and 9 (yeah, I got a late start). I’ve been working out and eating right consistently for one year now. When I started out, my goal was “six pack abs” which evolved into “single-digit body fat.” As I’ve gone through the programs being offered out there on the internet, I’ve learned a lot about exercise, fitness and nutrition, but most importantly, I’ve learned what I realistically can and can’t accomplish physically and mentally in terms of my own fitness goals. In other words, I am coming to grips with my limitations in terms of my age and responsibilities outside of my own “selfish” pursuit of my fitness ideal. That’s where strength comes in. Now that I have the physique I’ve learned to be satisfied with (and it’s not bad), it’s all about FUNCTION. I want to take the body I’ve worked hard to create and make it as useful as possible. This means being able to lift, push, pull, throw, etc. and keep up, no, keep AHEAD of my kids for as long as possible. STRENGTH will be the key to my staying fit, durable and in peak condition into my 60′s when my boys will be in their teens. It sounds like your program can deliver. I’d like to find out.

I am 62 years old. I used to keep myself in pretty decent condition with daily walks and hikes on the weekend. Over the past 15 years, my husband and I have devoted more of our time to building a house on 40 acres of land in the mountainous country. He’s 10 years older than me, has had two knees replaced, and isn’t able to get around like he used to. So my exercise has slackened, and my fitness level declined. While I work to support us, he keeps the house and makes all the food–he’s a great cook and definitely overfeeds us. The Savage Strength Program would give me a framework to build a strong body that could cope with all the demands of life.

I totally agree with you about the factor and your definition of strength. Our entire society was once built on strength before pilitical correctness. I believe your system is perfect for me to debvelop myself into the strongest I can be. I am 54 years old and have been working out regularly for just over one year consistently and have made very nice gains while losing 6 inches in my waistline and adding inches to my chest, shoulders and arms. I am bound and determined to continue to grow and develop my strength and my body while acheiving optimum health. Just a few months ago I was taking 19 pills per day for type2 diabetes and high blood pressure but now I am on no pharmaceutical drugs at all with no high blood pressure and normal blood sugar. Now my goal is to become a power builder and strongman in order to reach children to motivate them to become good people and healthy people and to motivate older people and have them realize they are never too old to become healthy and strong. I am a trained martial artist and self defense instructor and would love to perform for audiences in martial arts and strength demonstrations.
I have also done extensive research and believe this type of training is the ultimate form of training with long lasting significant results. I just started an eight week cycle of German Volume Training but your system is much more complete and would be a perfect raodmap for me and I guarantee you I will use it to the best of my ability.

To be Strong you need to Learn, To learn you need to be Soft.

A sponge is soft. We need to become a sponge.
But we can’t expose our sponge to the world. Like a turtle we need a hard shell to protect the sponge that lies within us.
A program like the new ” Savage Strength Training system ” activates each and everybody’s sponge mechasims.

Teaching one person through your system means that I can then teach many others from family and friends to fellow gym partners.
I can assure you that this system would be given the full commitment that you would expect.

The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for.

    Learn soft.. Train hard…..

At 44 years into my life journey, two pins holding my right shoulder’s labrum, two left knee surgeries, recently retired after 24 years in the United states Army, and with a beautiful 34 month old daughter making me run around like a little kid again, the Savage system will be very beneficial to me. I consider myself a mentally strong father, husband, and man, but physical strength has been a big struggle the last four years of my life. I quit smoking almost three years ago when my daughter was born and I had my last surgery. Changed my eating habits and started a fitness program a year ago, since then, I have lost 45 pounds, can finally do two full pull ups (embarrassing, I know) body fat is 17%, and I am still improving a little every day. The Savage program will help me improve even faster and gain the confidence I have lost. Life has helped me to have patience and I know it will take a lot of dedication and time to get amazingly strong, but I am willing to abide. I am not looking for a quick fix; perseverance and work have given me the positive results I have achieved this past year. I am tired of spinning my wheels, too many so called fitness experts all over the web. It is very hard to choose a trainer when everyone out there claims to be the best. I have seen Mike in action, and I wish I could learn his system.
    Respectfully

I think the program would be awesome to have because who doesn’t want the feats of strength he has. Curling a pan and doing jeep curls would definately be a party starter.

When it come across with the act of discrimination, the most crucial thing to overcome it is by the most primitive means, the strength.

Although strength can be referred to mental or physical, physically strength will be the most effective one to be applied to most of the situation that we encounter everyday. As a college student, I do agree that SAVAGE STRENGTH TRAINING SYSTEM is the best regime to strengthen me physically, even mentally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that’s why SAVAGE STRENGTH TRAINING SYSTEM is the most ideal training fit for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As one become strong, secure and power will be achieved by him as well. it is a primary criteria the survive!!!!!!!!!!
Thus I need to DEVELOP SAVAGE STRENGTH so that I can be a STRONG , TOUGH and POWERFUL MAN!!!!!!!!!

I am sapper in the Royal Australian Engineers , I deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 for 9 months . As part of a high risk search team our main role was to look for improvised explosive devices while dismounted in the green zone . By the time my tour was over after several mounted and dimounted IED strikes , numerous contacts and indirect fire I was a mental and physical wreck . My body shed 6 kgs of muscle , several aches pains and sprains through my muscular system , severe mental fatigue coupled with diminished emotional response to my wife and young children . Exercise diet and mental training helped me recover to the point where I felt semi normal . The crazy thing is soon I will be going back to do it all over again as this is what I do , it’s my job . I believe the savage strength training system would be perfect for me and other soldiers like me to strengthen our mind an bodies against the stressess of war so no more boys return as broken men .

I think I deserve to win this, because I am 17 year old who’s been working out for a year now and I really love the fact that you said most people are afraid to take a stand. Most people in todays society are too politically correct. I can honestly say that as a high school student, in my contemporary issues class I stand alone and stick up for what I believe in everyday. I do take alot of criticism for it from my class mates, but I don’t care. I feel that I do demonstrate great strength by doing this, knowing I will get made fun of for my so called “radical stand points.” Is the constitution radical? Also I have been lifting for a while and am some what happy with my results, but am dedicated to constant self improvement. Thank you for your time and I hope you will pick me.

I think this would be a great fit for me. I practice the idea of being strong in all areas of you life, and anything that can increase this strength means alot to me. The comment about puffing out your chest is a great example of the insecure and weak, and are never giving to others anyway. The strong people I know in life are definately the most generous, and that’s what I want to be.

Personally, I Believe That Completeness Comes In Body, Mind & Spirit. But To Complement The Latter 2, The Temple (The Body), Must Be A Fortified Fortress. That Means, To Me At Least, That All Weakness, Must Be Dealt With, To The Best Possible Outcome. This System Seems Like It Provides That Edge. I’m Loving What I’m Seeing, & Would Love 2 Experience It For Myself. On Top Of That, I Believe, One Becomes Stronger, By Showing Or Telling Others How To Become Stronger. It’s No Good If Just Kept For Self, “Each One Teach One” & “Knowledge Is Infinite” Are Philosophies I Have Incorporated Into My Own Life & See The Fruits Of Those Concepts Harvesting In Other Peoples Lives That I Have Been Able To Share And Be In Contact & Fellowship With, That Think Like I Do. The reason I need to develop Savage Strength is simply because I have a savage mentality, and I need a body that can rise to the challenges that a mindset like that will take it. Often, whether it’s in the gym, in a fight, or on the field, I find my mind and will still pushing while my body can no longer seem to, that is unacceptable. Being a savage doesn’t mean that you should just be extremely strong physically, but rather that you have the mental strength and conviction to use that gift. I feel like that state of mind is not something that can just be taught, but is something that is a part of your very being. Like I said I know I have the mindset, and if I’m lucky enough to be chosen, then I’ll be able to have the physical aspect as well. Thanks for your consideration

The eyes pierce with knowledge. The video is pure mind over matter. It’s the strength of the presence of mind that impresses me. It’s the ability to move mountains, (or Jeeps over mountains), that makes me take notice. Who doesn’t want that? Who doesn’t need that at some moment in their lives? I train because I need it constantly. It’s the pure ability to do. It’s the need to do more, know more, unlock more life through body and mind together. Everyone has their own hell to live through. Not everyone climbs out of it. Some, like Mike, can enhance that moment and teach others through it.

After watching Mike’s video, I figured this probably is not the fitness program for me. But after reading his article and learning about his background, I had a complete reversal of opinion.

I believe with a specific program to follow, I would be able to achieve my goals of losing 15 pounds and increasing my overall strength. I am a 50 yr old healthcare worker and I have to lift and move lots of heavy patients. I am a former high school and amatuer athlete and over the past few years have gotten a bit soft and out of shape. With Mike’s program and having him as a role model, I would be able to reach my health goals. Not only would I improve my physical strength, but I would forge that inner strength or warrior’s attitude which is necessary for situational confidence and control. To me, being strong is having that confidence with the physical power and skills with which to back it up.

I am all about being strength in my training. As a social worker working with adolescents in drug rehab, they understand strength. As a biker working for kid’s safety, strength equals safe. As a bouncer, I need to be able to keep my customer’s safe. All of these aspects require the type of strength that I can get from this program. The calm strength to influence others when necessary and to power my workouts so I can help my biker brothers and sisters when needed. I lift for strength and power with every workout and this program would enhance my every workout which would give me the confidence that only true strength can bring.

LIfe is vastly becoming an utter disppointment. I thought that getting divorced was bad enough, but last week I lost my children. Anxiety, fear, desperation, and sadness is ever present. It seems that leaving this world is the only to rid my mind and soul of this sad reality. I spent the past 3 three years training. I first started at home and now in a perfermance gym. I am on the verge of quitting. All seems lost. My goals, as far as training is concernced, are no longer at the forefront. My body seems to be in constant pain. Shin splints and a partially torn rotator cuff are dragging me down. I can only hope that the drive that once fueled my eagerness and agressivness toward my training for life is again ignited. I guess the only the future, no matter how dismal, will tell.

No one wants to be loser, and I also want to win any matches, but in order to win and get strong, I need a training program or system to help me. Respect, that’s what I have tried to teach my son. Being able to be respectful of others even though an individual could command respect based off of physical strength alone. It’s the person of strong character, even tempered as well as physical and emotional strength. That’s the person I try to be for my son.

A friend that said my son only listens to me because he is afraid of me. I said that’s your opinion. I can say something to my son with no anger in my voice; only sadness that I have failed in my teachings. That is when my son truly listens and understands. Again, my friend asked what I’m going to do when my son is big enough to kick my arse. I simply replied, “When he hits that point, then I hope he has enough respect not to.” I believe he may be at that point now but it is his strength in character and respect for me that does not even allow that thought to enter his head. That’s strength!!!

It doesn’t matter how big or powerful we become. What matters is the impression that we leave behind. Now that doesn’t mean it is fine to be remembered as that fat funny guy but rather as the person that had his crap together. One part of that is being healthy. This Savage Strength program is just one tool in shaping a person but a must have tool to have in the toolbox.

The state of being strong and the power of resisting attack… impregnability!

For the entire time I’ve been training, ten years, felt like I was being attacked by my own body, and that would cause me to be attacked by my own situational circumstances. I am a pure Endomorph, “I cannot defeat my own body causing me to have that whole bully dynamic where I always perceived weakness in myself!. This perceived weakness caused me to harass or even attack my body mentally. I was fat and that makes me feel like a failure, a constant overweight failure.

I’m hoping I find ‘durability’, and lose my emotional stress caused by always doing the wrong technique, following the wrong mentor and constantly failing. I feel the “opposition to the very idea of strength, and it does sound, feel, and act in opposition, bringing on weakness.

I’m sick of puffing my damn chest out and acting like I’m “the tough gym guy, when inside I know that’s just my subconscious. Yea I’m strong as hell, but fat too. I want to be the strong man that simply does what needs to be done!

So how would this program benefit me? why do I need to develop strength? BECAUSE I AM A MAN. My name is Siawash Ahmadi and I am 21 years old and I am ashamed to admit that I am not strong! All I can do is beg for mercy and I would do anything to be considered strong enough to show mercy and not need to beg for it. This does not mean that I wish to have the strength to overcome barriers and protect my family.

I love football! I would love to be picked for my university team, but I keep getting rejected because I am not strong enough to hold my own in the field. Football is known to many as war, due to all the violence that goes down in the sport. I am also sick and tired of hearing the word “bulk up”. I do not feel like gaining 10′s of pounds of fat just to look bigger and gain “some” muscle on the side. This is why I believe the Savage of Strength Training would be an ideal fit in my life since it could help me develop the strength I need to accomplish my goals.

I need to develop Savage Strength to compete in university level football, protect my family, and finally feel like a man who has the power and not a wimp who needs mercy!

Sadly, I have become negative and unmotivated. I have started to do less in exercise and procrastinate. So when I read your article, It made me think that I wanted to find the real strength in me. STRENGTH IS LIFE. I totally agree with you about your concept of strength. A weak bodied person can’t be strong mentally and emotionally. And we are only truly living when we are fearless, and this fearlessness arises from knowing that we are strong. And when we are physically strong it reflects in our whole personality. We become strong mentally and emotionally as well. So I think that Savage Strength Training System will help me in achieving this state of physical and mental strength and would help me in living the life fearlessly with complete peace and harmony with people around me. Because knowing that I am strong I won’t be disturbed or rattled by the people or situations around me.

That being said, I think the savage strength program would definitly help to earn me a lot of respect that I find hard to gain from people because of my size. People tend to try to walk all over me because I’m not as big as everyone else but luckily I have a pretty hard he’s that keeps that from happening entirely, but some extra strength definitly wouldn’t hurt. I also have an extreme amount of dedication to all the workout programs I’ve tried over the years, and so far, mikes are the only ones that have worked. As someone who has had to stand up for his beliefs more than once in my life, I know the importance of inner strength. my beliefs have at times been at odds with the crowd. However, in recent times, I have been unemployed for two years, and this has been a blow to my self esteem. So, having been a strong person mentally and morally, I now find myself diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorder. The opposite of strength. Also, due to the higher levels of Cortisol and lower levels of activity, I now also have a tummy. This from someone who was always very active. I like to blame the move from the country to the city… no scenery to enjoy and inspire, no hills to hike, cycle etc. I do weights and play touch footy, but I have become that which I swore I’d never be… A Couch Potato. But I’m not looking for a crutch or somewhere to lay the blame or hope. I know it is up to me. I want to get that inner strength and be even stronger than before. I want to possess that rare physical strength. I liken it to an English Knight. They were warriors. They used their strength of character and physical skills to champion the course of the weak. That has always appealed to me. Savage Strength will allow be to become a modern day knight, and be there for my family.

Does ‘weakness invite tyranny’? Indeed it does. It begins on the inside with the tyranny of insecurity. This is what bullies suffer from, so they live in denial of it by abusing the elderly and those physically smaller than themselves. Deep inside they realise this is true, but because they are slaves to the tyranny of insecurity they lack the strength to rise up against their own weakness.
The strong are never bullies. The strong are people of action, but not arrogant, self-righteous action put on largely for show. The strong act in service to what their humanity reveals to be correct. The strong are in touch with their humanity, and it is from there that their actions spring. Recognise what true strength is; recognise it and strive to attain it, and the more you do the more your humanity will blossom.
I learned long ago the meaning of strength, and my goal these past few years has been to match up the external with its internal counterpart. The Savage Strength Training System will bring the two together so much faster than I ever could on my own. Cheers.

My dad is the strongest person I’ve ever met in my life. Yes, he’s 6 foot 3 and weighs over 225 pounds, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’ve never seen him fight anybody and I can’t even remember a time when he raised his voice at a stranger. My dad knows how to avoid conflict, and for that I respect him.
He put a roof over my head for 18 years before delving into his savings account to send me to college to try and achieve something. My dad is the greatest motivation in my life and I want nothing more than to make him proud of what I’m doing with my life. I feel like holistic strength is the most important skill I can possess in my journey into the real world, and Savage Strength would be a great step in the right direction for me to become as powerful a person as my dad.

There is an article written in a medical journal about how being strong makes you harder to die or get killed by any means….cancer….gunshot….car crash….heart attack…anything… I am 44 y/o.. 5’7″..198lbs… My PR deadlift if 455 (I want and will get to 500lbs) and I squat 395. I can overhead press 205lbs…. I feel that I am strong but look for all ways to get stronger, much stronger. I am not interested in getting big… I want strength…. Real strength. I am a professional firefighter, father to 2 children and husband to my beautiful bride. My job demands me to be tolerant of pain, distress and fatigue. My duties as a parent and spouse demands me to be much stronger than my job. Strength is physical, mental and spiritual and I am strong. I am always looking to be stronger. Living a long and healthy life for my children and wife is a big goal for me. It is not a goal that has an end or finish, it is a living goal that is dynamic, just like getting and staying strong. Savage Strength would give me another tool to use be harder to kill in life and provide comfort and peace for my family.

Loved the article! It follows my Eastern philosophy believe in life. True Strength presents itself, no need to boast. However, being a 145 lb 40 year old, it is getting harder to reach let alone maintain a reasonable fitness goal. Most programs don’t seem to have any philosophical approach like stated in this report. If the program doesn’t grab at your core beliefs, the chances of you sticking with it are slim. Sounds like this one is the one!

I am a 50 something year old Father & husband who has battled asthma all his life and been fighting gout & arthritis for the last couple of decades. It would be nice to find & use a program that rewarded the users with increased durability, defence against those things that ail…
It gets harder & harder to stay fit & vital not only due to the above but because of simply getting older. I’ve lifted weights for over 30 years and started doing so, like most males, because I wanted to be strong and look like a superhero.
I deadlifted 300kg for 6 reps on my 50th – not too shabby but have not come close since then. This program and the benefits it will bestow looks like one of the few remaining chances I have to achieve what I stated trying to all those years ago. No to mention that it seems to the way to ensure that I have a vibrant second half century.

I am an ex Army Airborne Ranger and sadly you wouldn’t know it by looking at me. Strength is something from deep inside every individual, it must be found and brought to its full potential. However sometimes its strength can be lost not unlike a muscle that isn’t trained properly. I have always believed the mind is the strongest part of the body and it to requires exercise to become strong and reach its true potential. I need a little help to get my edge back. I am currently in law enforcement, a field of endeavour that requires mental and physical strength not only for yourself but others on a daily basis. I teach a university class every quarter to young women on how to protect themselves. I have even in the last two weeks been blessed to have started a relationship with the woman of my dreams, a woman I have know for 11 years. As a 57 year old man I am constantly looking for ways to stay fit and most importantly STRONG, both mentally and physically. In three years time at the big 6-0 I do not want to be a feeble old man. I want to be strong, healthy and vital (in and out of bed ;) ).

I believe the savage training system is ideal for me because I am willing to do what it take to become savagely strong, old age is not an issue, it’s a lack of will power and weakness of the mind that is the issue, I have none of that…. I’m a savage :) .

I’ve always been weak. I was the fat kid in school, picked on a lot. And now, after lifting weights for a few years, I find I’m still much weaker than people I know who rarely train, if ever. I’m also short at about 5’5, so I make an easy target in almost any situation. I’m always on the lookout for something effective that can help me in my never ending attempts to change myself. One day I hope to look in the mirror and not see the weakness that I’ve known in myself all my life.

When you’re big and STRONG, basically you own it all! It just gives you the confidence and power to command. Hah!
This program will be ideal for me as an athlete, without proper strength you’re going nowhere. I want to bring my fitness level higher, coming back stronger and faster. And also for my peers, would be good to introduce them to something new and powerful.
To overcome obstacles in life, strength is the key. And this is the matter of the mind, physical and mental must always be together.

I’ve tried in so many ways to improve my outlook on life with respect to the way my body looks. I have the height (6’2″) but lack the appropriately matching strength to go with it. While I make every effort to include a steady regimen in terms of fitness, life would sometimes take over and rather that I focus on other “more important” things.
If I were to win this Savage Strength Training System, I’m confident I’ll have the tools to make sure the life I wanted is attainable, instead of just letting life happen to me the way it has been for the past few years.

It’s a jungle out there! Not only does a lack of strength rob a person of confidence and ability to cope, but it’s insanely difficult to find the training program to correct that weakness. The fitness industry gallops wildly from one standard to another, always looking for the next new thing, leaving people like myself so confused: Tae Bo? TRX? Functional? Plyometrics? Arghhhhh! I need your program because you walk the walk, and can guide me to do the same.

The Savage Strength Training System would be an ideal fit for me simply because i will join the force soon and i would like to
go there with the ability to endure everything they throw at me.
I am not out of shape but I am not in the very best shape of
my life.Though I am young I think this system will be
beneficial for the rest of my life, not just because of the workouts, but because I think I will learn to respect myself
more as I do others.I think I deserve as much as everyone else
here a chance to develope that savage strenght and I need it
so I can become a better man, physiqually as much as mentaly.
I had a nickname once,it was Tiger…I want to reclaim that
nickname again as much as I want to add savage strenght to
that..Simply said..i need it and want it because i don’t want
to be like everyone else working out like this or that.Time for changes is here and now. When it hurts i always remember

First off, good luck to everybody that takes the time to enter.
Being 45 years old, a father of four, and just having gone through my third back surgery, I could not imagine the benefit that a program like this would give me. Therapy and gym memberships only get you so far, it seems you eventually get “lost” in the crowd.
Anyway, I’m not going to give everyone a sob story to convince people to give me this program.

My name is Tyrell, Im 18 year old who just graduated from high school this past May. I recently started working at a close by hospital as a nursing assistant. Im fairly strong having the challenging ectomorph genetics I always possesed. I do quite a lot of heavy lifting in my job, assisting patients, who are in most cases heavier than me, standing, walking, getting dressed, transfering them from beds, to showers, etc. So strength is a very important factor for me to have.
I have an absolute love for weight training, which I 1st started back in my 8th grade year of middle school and I haven’t stopped since. In the 5 years of constant weight training has lead to me building a descent amount of muscle & strength compared to your average skinny ectomorph, and also helped me gain the respect of my friends at school and now my family actually looks to me when they need help lifting or moving heavy furniture, equipment or anything else.
Which leads me to my family. About 10 or so years ago I had quite a few uncles, and cousin brothers, so manual labor was pretty evened out but as the years moved on they’re not around at all anymore. So that just leaves me, my older brother, and cousin with my 4 aunts, cousin sisters, mother, and elderly grandmother who all own cattle. My brother is 20 years old right now and currently away from home finishing automotive school, and my cousin, same age as me, lives an hour away and also a full time student and has a part time job. Before my 2 brothers went to school or had jobs, we worked together managing our family’s livestock, hauling wood for our family and grandmother, mending barbed wire fences cut by drunken idiots that don’t know the importance of fences keeping our cattle away from rural communities. We were the only Real Men of our family, we were the providers and protectors. But now that my 2 brothers are almost always away from home, I feel the load has been placed onto my shoulders. I’ve been doing my best to keep up with everything, from making sure my family and grandma have firewood to burn, mending cut fences, hauling wood by myself, managing our ranch with my aunties and cousin sisters. And the strength I have now has helped greatly with everything but I do struggle sometimes, if its holding down a 200lb calf down while my aunt or sisters try to tie the bruising kicking legs together, or holding a resisting barbed wire with one hand while I try to lock on the fence puller onto the wire with the other. I sometimes don’t have the strength to do everything. Strength is something I must have, and will always need with the job I have now, and the responsibilites waiting for me back at home.
Being an ectomorph doesn’t allow me to build muscle or strength easy, muscle I do want to add onto my skinny frame so my family doesn’t describe me to others as the “skinny tall guy”, and strength I do need and will put to use almost on a daily basis whether on my own or with the help of my 2 brothers.Savage strength will be a very nice gift to posses for me to become a true Man in my family, along side my 2 loyal brothers. Thanks for your consideration everyone.

I live and work in a remote are. There is actually a real lion loose in this area (no kidding, there were more but one has been shot so far). I think I may need some Savage Strength.

Joking aside (the lion is actually rather afraid of people, so it wouldn’t attack even if I got face to face with it), my only goal in training as far back as I can remember is to be as strong as possible. It’s never been about six-packs abs or anything like that for me. Real strength is visible through an overcoat, and that’s what I want. Only to be strong for the sake of being strong.

As a Soldier, strength is something we require. We need to be prepared to a level that most regular people cannot or will not take the steps to meet. We may face other Soldiers in combat, and we must have the stength to handle all situations. I know that from my previous experiences with hard physical training that it helps to develop and soldify ones character. I would expect this progam to be able to deliver the same. And I would not keep such knowledge to myself, but encourage my fellow Soldiers to participate. One of our mottos here is “We fight tonight!” This program can help us meet that in a whole new way.

Now I want to prove (1) you are only as young as you let yourself believe (I’m 63 but won’t stop!) and (2) it is never too late, and (3) you CAN lose more fat and wasted weight with bigger muscle, than diets!

Imagine being 48 years old, 135 pounds, and 4′ 9″ tall. I’ve taken a lot of flack over many years – never have I retaliated. I found that by brushing off the jokes, the bullying, and the pranks (being shoved in lockers, tossed into dumpsters, stuffed into garbage cans, etc), I exhibited an enormous amount of self control and mental strength – I learned to just walk away.

Heck, I even had to get a waiver to enlist into the Air Force…because I was too short. Each and every day I had to prove my worth. I had to stand in the line of fire, I had to put my life on the line for others (I was a flight medic). Now a Veteran (after 23 years of service), I want to apply strength to my new civilian life. I want to feel the strength of a powerful body and, have the strength to balance my life. To be able to look PTSD in the face and conquer it without fear!

With all that life has thrown at me – I have always embraced my stature…or lack there of. Two years ago I started competing in local strongman competitions. In my weight class, I have done very well!! “Well” is not good enough for me. I want more size, more strength, more power, and the mental capacity to make it all happen. I have followed Mike and Elliott and, have improved in most of the desired areas. To have “Savage Strength” would be a bonus. I feel it would meld all that I need to be the best version of me…mentally and physically.

Yeah, I’m a small guy…but, I have a strong heart and a desire to be more than my size dictates. I have the strength to pull trucks and, I have the strength to embrace the power of my opponent.

Help me be the best I can be…in EVERY aspect!! Savage Strength WILL produce everything I want, need, and desire to be…balanced in power, mind, body, spirit, and all endeavors.

I have always been a strength athlete. I am now 44 and in the past several years my life has gone through a lot of changes (Elliott knows my story). I found out I had medical problems (kidney failure and in need of a transplant and most recently heart issue= I just had 3 stints put in as a result of the kidney issue). I had always been physically strong (5’5″ 210 and pretty lean) but the dishealth has caused me to lose a lot of weight (I am cureently 173) because of diet and lifestyle changes which has caused me to lose a considerable amout of strength. I still train everyday (it is my time of peace) and maintain a good, posative outlook and maintain integrity, taking on whatever is given to me with everything I have. I still help others (Im a personal trainer andI train several people for free who can’t afford it and truly need/enjoy it) and I still give thanks and gratitude for all that I have every day. I seem to meet all the critera for your definition of strength although I am without my old physical strength at this current time. I believe your program will help me to rekindle that strength and complete me to be a comprehensibly strong person.

My gains have slowed to nothing, my self-esteem is slowly dropping and my confidence is disappearing. I am not strong, I need to be strong! I am a positive person and can throw myself 110% into any program and just thought that I’d let you know, if you pick me you will not just be giving some guy a new set of workouts, you will be positively impacting on someone’s life and making them the strongest version of themselves possible. It would be an ideal fit for me because I desire the ability to change the world for the better. As a teenager, I strongly believe that we hold the most potential to bring change to this world because it would be us who would take over the reins of this world a few decades from now.

However, in this world, changing the world required more than mental and emotional fortitude. Emotional strength gives people to find courage for what they believe is right, and allow them to speak up for their values. Mental fortitude allows one to not crumble under stress and personal attacks, so that one would not stray for his beliefs and waver. Unfortunately, I have witnessed personally that having only those forms of strength is not enough. Physical strength is sometimes required to get people to actually consider listening. This does not mean conducting acts of violence though. Like everyone else, I was exposed to situations which went against my morals – such as the strong oppressing the weak. Sure, I tried to stand up against their actions, but winning was always a challenge. When you are weak, morals and reasoning go out the window.

Therefore, I want to develop physical strength so that I can change the world positively. This world may be full of unfairness and negativity now. However, that does not mean that the future would be the same. Moping about it will not bring change; only actions will.

I have been working out since I was a teenager. I boxed in competition back in the late 70′s into 1980. Today, I am the boxing director of the Kingston PAL in Kingston, Ulster County NY. My dear friend, Billy Costello, former WBC Light Welter Champ, passed away over the summer from cancer, and he asked me and his son-in-law to carry on the program. He left us the boxing fundamental template, and who could argue with it? After all, he was a champion. I have youngsters, teenagers, and even “masters” boxers in the gym. The “masters” are 35+ who box 1-2 minute rounds. One of our “masters” boxed over the summer in KC and made it to semi-finals. I still workout regularly and at 55 years old weigh 10 lbs less than I did for my last match in 1980. We have men & women alike. Along with the old school standards; road work, shadow boxing, rope, bag/pad work, sparring I also stress new techniques like muscle confusion, HIT metabolic blasting workouts, sprinting, body weight exercises. I tell my team that if all things are equal, endurance, speed, skill, then muscle endurance & strength will take you over the top and onto a Win. I’m always looking for new sports & functional strength building techniques. I would love to share your Savage Strength with the boxers.
Sincerely yours in health & strength,
    Paul T.

The lose of my tongue, also cut down my manhood. While I’m back to my normal weight 5 years later, I still don’t have the power, strength, and muscle that I need. I no longer feel like or am a cancer victim. I am a man who is stronger, but needs and wants to be as powerful a man as I was before and more so. I am getting stronger in the gym, but it has been a slow process. I want to supersize my workouts. I am gaining my integrity and my masculinity back, but I want to catapult myself over any limitations of my mind or body that keep me from expressing my authenticity as a powerful man amongst men. I want my body, mind, and spirit to be one in power and integrity.

Strength is a quality who’s origins are from within. Only those who know weakness will ever truly know strength and those who truly know strength can ever understand the quality of mercy. As our society continues to be devastated by a weak mindset and even weaker bodies it is necessary more than ever that we raise up true warriors of strength to protect the weak and frail while preserving the peace that only comes through the knowing their struggles and having overcome them ourselves. As those who possess strength, once knowing the trials of the weak, can truly lead and guide others.

The name of my fitness business that I am starting, oddly enough is, “Savage Fitness”. I believe in building the strength of others from the inside out. With the strength of your mind and the strength of your conviction can you truly become a warrior and leader amongst society today. We need Savage strength in todays world to overcome the tyranny of weakness and the ignorance of laziness.

Savagely commit to be Savagely fit and break the chains of weakness.
Stay strong and committed my friends.

I am 49 years old with 3 sons who have been champion wrestlers in the state of Utah. The past year I got the shocking news of a friend who died of a heart attack at age 45. This was a wake up call as I did not realize how my weight at 240 at 5’6” with high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes had affected my quality of life. I was always tired and my sons who were half my weight could throw me with ease. I have made a lifestyle change this past year and am now 190 with muscle. They say success comes when preparation meets opportunity. I feel at this time of my life this opportunity to be involved with savage strength can take me to the next level. Not just look strong but be strong. I am not wishing for my life to be easier but wishing I become better. I have taught my boys and now want to be the prime example of working harder than the rest, always doing my best, pursuing relentlessly, then just having fun. Want to swim out to the ship and not wait for it to come in. That is control. That is being strong.

    Hi,
I come from a place where people disregard personal hygiene. I grew up like that and was weighing 95 kilograms at a time. I realized what i have become and started putting effort to bring change in my life style. I lost over 20 kilograms in a span of 3 years. over past 1 year i have added weight training and added some good muscle mass. Added strength building exercises and was surprised the change it brought in everything the way I look, walk , think . now everything changed. Just feel great and alive! It is time to test myself, push ,myself and see the limits. I guess that would be possible only from a experienced professional like you!

    Thanks,
    Phanendra.

I learn by “hands-on” and it also helps to keep me motivated so if this is a hard copy or dvd, I believe this will be a valuable addition to my training. It will also provide an alternative to my current program which as we all know also helps to maintain motivation and offset stagnation or boredom!

One of my core desires is getting really, really strong. Physically and mentally. I feel safer and a lot stronger since I’ve been working out. But I can’t say that I’m actually strong. Only sometimes I have a feeling of endless power flowing through my body when I do some heavy lifting. I love lifting knowing that I can push something heavy, sometimes I feel like I’m just ‘working out’. I want to train and become strong. I want to be able to handle 100 chin ups but also push a big bence and lift a huge deadlift. I strongly feel I need this strength and I won’t stop till I have it. I think this program can help me!

I genuinely would cherish the opportunity to own a copy of the New Savage Strength Training System!!!A good comrad of mine enlightened me about the critical bench web site a while back.I admire what I have seen and read to date so far. This past Tuesday,my wife (THE LOVE OF MY LIFE) for the past seven years, left for boot camp in Texas for the United States Air Force.I am so very PROUD of her.She enlisted for six years.I need to seize this time to change everything about me and make her as proud of me as I am of her.In my opinion,it would be GLORIOUS to attribute that accomplishment of giving myself compassion, power, might, toughness, durability, soundness, vigor, potency, cultivated better health, show of strength, also to get rid of the over abundance of physical and emotional stress due to my occupation, TO THE NEW SAVAGE STRENGTH TRAINING SYSTEM!!! “Only the strong can show mercy” Thanks for your time and for the excellent informational website!!!

For Me Savage Strength is important for two reasons.
    1. It can provide emotional confidence and stability
    2. It can slow down the effects of aging, especially the physical discomforts of aging.

I just turned 40 years old. By nature I am a lean, not so strong man. I am naturally about 180 lbs at 6 feet tall. Today I weigh 221. I remember when I was ecstatic over benching 245 1rm, today my goal is a 400 bench, 500 squat and 600 deadlift. I’ve been considering entering a raw powerlifiting meet in the future just to help me in my goals. I am also considering taking up mma to help keep me in shape and as a test to myself.

Obviously both of these require “savage” strength, so I would be honored to be able to test this program out as a means to achieve my goals.

If I were to win one of the free copies of the Savage Strength System it would help me in more ways than one. First it would help me further my results for size and strength in and out of the gym. Not only would it help to improve my size and strength, it would also improve my discipline as well. Second it would help me greatly on my upcoming tour to Afghanistan, as an 11B if I come into a situation and need to carry a fellow Soldier out of a dangerous area I would like to be able to carry him or her out as fast as possible, I would only be able to do that if I were as strong physically as I am mentally.

Far more than looking good, far more than being able to perform, the most important attribute of possessing Savage Strength is the transformation that occurs in the mind. The mental metamorphosis that occurs with elite training cannot be documented by number of pull-ups performed nor burpees executed; it is rather seen by the inner peace exuded by the man who is quietly aware of his own power. This power is visibly demonstrated by all dynamic leaders, inspiring mentors, and silent heroes who have learned to parlay the confidence they have of being “in their own skin” into a message of inspiration that others cannot help but to grasp — even in the absence of words. Savage Strength is ultimately about being present and aware of the NOW: in our physical awareness, our thought life, our intentions, and our relationships. Everyone has someone thing to offer to someone else: the strongest know what it is they possess and can offer their gifts without embarassment or shame.

I want to continue to evolve into the kind of man who possesses the Savage Strength I’ve described above. I am dedicated to intense, regular training and am looking for a chance to break through certain plateaus in my life. Becoming strong and staying strong are core values for me and I am eager to engage the opportunity that’s presented by the Savage Strength Training System.

Hey! First of all thank you guys for the opportunity you are giving us all. Well, I know this would be a perfect fit because when I read the article I felt completely identifyed. For years I’ve been building up my character, my spirit, my self-steem and discipline. I’ve fought several diseases in very short periods of time, which has led me to confront my own self through several challenging times. I am very proud of how much I have grown in every of those aspects, and pretty much learned to love and respect myself, and see how that reflects on others. And now my main focus is to train my body so it can reflect all of the inner strength, I’ve worked so hard to acquire. It’s all about balance, now I’m looking to develop my physical savage strength!
    Thank you guys! Take care.

Who doesn’t dream of being stronger, bigger, and better looking? I honestly don’t know anybody that wouldn’t. However I have a joint problem and the best way for me to treat it without never-ending surgeries is to keep my body strong. I workout and I try very hard to do this on my own by taking protein and trying various workout programs. But I really need something serious to help myself stay healthy, and lets be honest, look amazing.

Savage strength is necessary at any age, to offset the stress and poor nutrition in today’s society. At 50 I stopped working out as our business soared & we started to criss-cross the country speaking at conventions – by 56 I had developed diabetes (which stripped 37 lean pounds in 3 months), hypertension & high cholesterol. For the last year my wife & I’ve been training hard and also training our 23-year-old son so that he never faces the same issues.

The training is slowly correcting the health issues, but I know the issues wouldn’t have arisen if I’d stayed ‘savage strong’.

Not looking for a free copy, but had to comment to say both how necessary a program like this is for health – and to offer my kudos to you for making 5 copies available to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it.

Sounds like you’ve put a real winner of a program together here – keep up the great work!

I am a disabled vet. Broke my back in 1980 as a senior at West Point. I was a real good athlete, played football, lacrosse, power-lifter and graduated top of my class in athletics. Fractured spine ended all that and my career aspirations. However, I managed to work a 33 year Army career. I had to fight to comeback from the broken back (5 spine surgeries), torn up knees requiring total replacements and near fatal blood clotting problems (11 surgeries in total). Against all odds I came back 5 times which required a savage inner strength. However now i am left 100% disabled. After 1 1/2 yrs in bed, i have started comeback #6 using traditional methods. I have lost my life savings and am struggling to keep my home. I have to make this comeback a success to care for my family and to live a long healthy life despite the odds. I am in severe pain all the time but the inner strength that i have been able to tap my whole life to rebound from serious problems is my only chance. I have the will and drive, but i could really use more knowledge and guidance from your new program. Please consider me worthy. I promise to give all the savage strength within to succeed. If I can capture the physical savage strength again, I know that the inner strength will grow even further and empower me to achieve my next goal:To help other vets and disabled folks overcome weight problems and disabilities to live their lives to the fullest.

I am already in pretty good shape (probably better than some of the young “rookies” that I work with on a daily basis. Your program would help me to be in even better shape and help me with my 55yoa goals of health and fitness. Heck it might even help with the dialy stresses of life, well not might I am sure it will as my physical fitness routines help me reduce my stress level and help give me a positive outlook on life. It would also help me get some of the young athletes I coach (another stress relief) in better shape and realizing that fitness is for life!.

This whole last year, I lost muscle mass and strength. I used to train for the body. Now I could care less. I want to train for strength. I am the eldest sibling in my family, and my parents always make me do all the hard work around the house. The only other brother I have is 5 years younger than me. I am not fully capable of doing everything they ask because I am not strong enough. I have been searching for strength training programs, and applying them, and have had good results. I still have a ton of goals left to accomplish, I feel like I’ve learned just about everything in strength training, and most of it seems really boring to me. I need some brand new innovative exercises. This program seems to be exactly what I need, its innovative, I think its a good change from other programs out on the market, and I think it will create the new wave, and I hope to be at the beginning of this wave.

    1. Why do I think the Savage Strength Training System would be an ideal fit for me, and…

    2. Why do I need to develop Savage Strength?

To answer the first question, it’s good for you to understand that I’m dedicated to becoming a better and better person…doing his best to provide value whenever I can. By being more, I can offer more.

Part of this involves living as a modern-day warrior: a person who knows that in the war of life, each day is a battle…a battle not just to do things right, but to do the right things.

Generally speaking, doing the right things involves improving myself spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. This extends to my finances, relationships, and other human dynamics.

To answer the second question, we all know that there are many aspects of strength: character, mind, general physical strength…and even grip strength. These are all inter-related, so an improvement in one aspect of strength helps improve all aspects of strength.

And hence, that’s why I need to develop Savage Strength.

I believe the savage Strenght training system is ideal for me because I’ve always dreamed of having natural strength, as a young kid I would watch my grandfather work hard on the field and carry these pieces of logs like if they where plastic I would say ” wow grandpa I want to be that strong someday” instead I grew up to be and obbesed kid all my teenage life weighing at 330, size 54 in pants. Till the day my grandfather passed away and I made a promised to him that I would be just like him. I lost 100 pounds and stated working out, lifting heavy to be just as strong as he was. I would love to have the opportunity to learn and achieve new
tragedies in becoming stronger, because I know my grandfather watches me from above and he would be so proud of me! This is

I Have been lifting for 4 or so years and have thought about joining amateur bodybuilding or powerlifting competitions but never felt i had the proper system to get me set up for it. I have experience in lifting and have many friends that lift and we’re always competing to see who the strongest is. But i don’t want to compete with them, i want to blow them away and have them ask me how i got so strong. I want to be SAVAGELY STRONG, and i think this would be an ideal fit for me because i know i’m going to need to be mentally and physically strong for the military. Also my whole life is basically centered around lifting and looking for ways to better myself and to look as best as possible, and get as strong as possible. Personally the title of the system would convey the rawness and purity of strength. originality and purity have always been a factor in my training both in physical and mental realms. as a practioner of martial arts and avid student of philosophy i think the system would give enlightenment to both areas. As touching the need of developing and possessing “Savage Strength” would rest in the thraldom of self mastery. i deem it worthy to quote the great Confucious – ” He who conquers himself is the greatest warrior”. Moreover the need is not a natural propensity of selfish pride or the edification thereof but of “the way” or as the great scholars of the orient said it “the tao”. there is an excess of weakness throughout the earth. there must be a propogation to the contrary. An incentive thereto. energy, power – “strength” is the very core of the universe. the natural laws that bind it are selfsame – power. within the laws of mankind and the inclusive areas- family, politics, government, etc. everything boils down to one thing strength and all strength proceeds from within.

I am an aspiring educator and powerlifter. I still have quite a distance to travel before I reach either goal—but along the path to those destinations I’ve come to realize the two ambitions are connected. Both require a tremendous amount of discipline and dedication—hours spent training or preparing to impart valuable knowledge while others shake their heads at you for refusing to have a “good time.” Both demand you be unflinchingly honest with yourself and those around you. Strength—real strength—isn’t just about symmetry or creating the illusion of size (though I have tremendous respect for the sport of bodybuilding), it starts with learning your limits, physically or otherwise, and pushing to move past them, not because you want to turn a few more heads at the local beach, but because you know that if you aren’t growing, you’re immobile and stagnating. Most importantly, both strength training and teaching require that you push yourself to be the best you can be so you can help other people be the best they can be—to help motivate them to grow and always strive for the best. I am convinced the Savage Strength system will provide me with the momentum I need to meet my fullest potential, and allow me—through applying the program’s principles in the gym and out of it—to assist others in doing the same. Thank you for your time, and for creating what promises to be an exceptional set of fitness tools.

Like the rest of life, we must work to limit our weaknesses in order to achieve true strength…savage strength. I have been working to eliminate my weaknesses and if granted the opportunity to undergo a training program that has been developed to unleash true strength, I will finally be able to bring all of my hard work and dedication together, to not only my training but my life. Lao Tze; The Way of Virtue, 550 BC once said…”He is strong who conquers others, but he who conquers himself is mighty”! Also shared went something like this….Nature does not hurry and is very outspoken and everyone knows it’s intent and when she’s done everything she intended is accomplished but she spoke, she did not lie and her strength came from within. Having retired from Law Enforcement after thirty two years and several years as a trainer I always employed the thought that I must treat everyone as I would want to be treated under similar circumstance, many times, in the eye of my colleages, a weakness however my strength revealed itself when I woke up the following day and I saw myself in the mirror. I don’t own the Savage Strength System however as in the article and should it’s training focus be as suggested in the articule then I would suggest that my benefit in it’s ownership would benefit not only myself specifically with the concepts introduced and the fact that I strive to maintain physical strength and would like to achieve that end which my body is capable of and yet reflect it’s benefits to my family, friends and followers whereas it would breed such a positive attitude in self, physically and mentally and attitude breeds attitude and I would like to light that fire in my self and others. Therefore I can only hope.

Being that I enlisted as an infantry recruit in the U.S. Army at the age of 35, I need any edge I can get. After seeing Mr. Gilette’s amazing demonstrations of seemingly inhuman strength, I’m quite confident that Savage Strength will give me the edge (and resistance to injury from doing things like jumping out of C-130s!) Strength in body equals strength in mind. This synergy is an important aspect of my life. I try to live this code daily. I am always looking for something to solidify strength in my daily life. For one, I need to be strong for my wife and children, making decisions that affect the results of their lives. Another is making decisions at work that affect the course of a jobs outcome. These are definitely important reasons to be strong. The reason I feel this program would be a good fit for me is I have decided to change careers at 43 years old and in order for me to be successful I need to be as strong mentally as I am physically. My goal is to train young athletes in baseball. I have been in school for a year now and with work, family , the gym, and school I need a program that gets to the point and gets me strong as hell within the time slot I have to available. I have a good work ethic and believe I will make this program successful in my efforts. I would love to be one of your success stories and will stop at nothing to make that happen. I can always seem to gain a little bit and then I just plateau. From that point on I can’t make any real gains and it pisses me off. I feel like this program would provide me the opportunity to actually see the results I know I want to achieve. It would also give me a strict program to follow and that always helps me stick to it.

    Thank you,

    Justin

The above definition, and discussion, of “strength” resonates for me. To it, I add a paraphrased version of Oxford’s definition of “savage”: fierce, wild, in a primitive state. If we combine the two then we have a strength in its natural, elemental form – the strength that human beings are born to possess. Such strength is not a birthright, but rather an obligation, if one is to live in a state of fierce and elemental strength it must be developed with hard work. The problem is that hard work in and of itself doesn’t produce results if invested in the wrong activities. I anticipate that this system will provide a road map that will save trial and error, but still demand an investment of time and effort.
Why then do I need savage strength? I need it because I am a once strong, drifting towards sedentary man. I need it because I am a former competetive fighter who toys with the idea of one more fight, but who can no longer rely on youth in place of conditioning. I need it because I work in law enforcement and am all too aware of the dangers of complacency. All of this aside, the most important reason I need savage strength is that I have recently become a father and I owe it to my new family to be strong and healthy for them and for myself for the long haul.

Strength is important, because you need it to keep up with the things in daily life. Strength gives us that ability to not only lift more, but be able to extend strength to the rest of my life emotionally and spiritually.

Strength empower me in my thinking mind. By being able to have the external strength, I should be able to bring that into a strong mind. I can conquer insecurity, over many things, and really take on the fear, that exists in my life.
Working on the outside, could mean big changes in the inside. Strength is the only thing that has ever conquered fear. It conquers jealously, hate, and greed. If I am weak, I am not in control of my mind. And I’m not in control of my mind, I am not in control of my body.

I am a great choice in receiving the new book, not only will I utilize and master the book, I will pass this knowledge onto my clients. Having this will help me grow mentally and physically, I have been dealing with what I like to call “crabs” for sometime.Learning how to avoid negative people and just do me, has been one of my greatest skills I have developed and continue to develop. Hope I get this new book, and thank you for being a great inspiration to the people of fitness.

I like it because of it’s raw energy and it’s revolutionary tactics from the old guard of weight training to the new style of training. It would boost my attitude and change my outlook. This would give me a whole new fresh perspective and change the way I look and train for strength. If I would be lucky enough to win I would not let this gift go to waste. This is something I am really interested in.
I want to win a free copy badly.

Savage Strength… I believe that everyone has it. It’s like a beast inside all of us waiting to come out. It’s not about rage or madness… no, it’s about living using one’s full potential, being who we really are. I guess that’s where that thrill, that feeling going up our spine every time we see a great act of a hero, a great achievement of someone, it is our true selves shaking the bars of the cage where we keep them, fierce to come out and show its colors. I’ve taken steps to be all I can, the best I can be. I am ready to go through, training harder every day and making the hard choices towards my real strengh and i believe that the Savage Strength Training System is the missing key, the tool that will tear the cage open and unleash my full potential. Right there and then, I’ll no longer need pictures or movies but a mirror and I’ll take a good look and see all I want to be.

Why should I win this? Well, being in my forties now I can say I have tried just about every system of lifting in my on again off again training program. Beginning with Weider, as just about everyone in my age group did. I’ve done the “Legendary Abs” and the “dinosaur training” routines/ Charles atlas to Matt Fury to the “Secrets of the Soviets’. One thing I can say is, none brought the results they promised in the time frame they stated. All brought some results , but the gains they claimed? No way. Now, I think your program is probably in the same category. Prove me wrong. send me the system, I will follow it for three months and if I receive the benefits you claim, I will pay you for it. Fair enough? Since I am just now coming off a two month lay off due to health problems (now fixed) I need a program to use. either yours, or back to basic bodybuilding and power walking.

    Hi Mike!
I’ll start by just saying that I stumbled onto your site about a year ago while looking for info on bench press. It took me about a week to realize that of all the sites I visited, yours was one of the most informative, least bullshit, straight to the point, and simple to follow sites on the web. I am always looking forward to your emails, I won’t win crap for my submission because I never win anything, but I just wanted you to know that at age 31, you changed my life for the better and gave me inspiration and guidance to move forward with my goals.
My 2012 goals are : gain muscle and get stronger, to do 10 pull ups for the first time in my life, bench 200 pounds for 10 reps, and most importantly becoming a savage beast. I do not know if my goals here are specific enough or too much.
Nothing but hard work has been put into my on-going transformation. I don’t want your package to make my transformation easier – that would imply that I’m not enjoying it. I want this package as it would assist me in achieving my main goal of maximizing my potential; physically, mentally and spiritually. To exploit my potential, effort is an obvious essential- One that I will never stop putting in. A lot of effort has been put into constructing the material in your package-It is only fair, that with the package I give it my all… It will be put to maximum use – I’m sure that is what you want to see too… Maybe I could even give you a 60-Day satisfaction guarantee. Looking back, I feel I should replace the word ‘Transformation’ with ‘Lifestyle’…Because a transformation has an end. I’ve realized that this whole thing is a LIFESTYLE. Not just some ‘One month strength/muscle gain routine’. – It has become a way of life for me. In addition to this, I’m really trying to involve my wife in this new life I’ve discovered. Your product would really help both of us. She can see the changes I’ve made and how it’s affected my outlook and she’s as hungry as I am to change her body. Using your product would make it easier for both of us. It would get me back on the right path relative to my training.
There is a quote by a silent film actress, Mary Pickford, that I like to keep in my mind whenever I lose motivation, “The thing we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down”. I have fallen many times in my journey, but bloody hell, I’m not staying down this time!!

There have been very few women my age finish the Chilli Challenge Adventure Triathlon in the last several years. I plan on adding my name to that short list in October, 2012.
I am a 38-year-old female recovering fatso. During the last two years I have dropped more than 100 pounds of body fat. I have learned how to run, how to swim, how to bike. I have put on muscle and a very large smile. I can swing a 25 pound kettlebell, squat with 75 pounds of dumbbell on my shoulders, bend over and place my hands flat on the floor. I can run a 38 minute 5K and climb stairs without going into cardiac arrest.
But there is much more I want to do. There are faster runs to have, more muscle to build and get stronger, bike trails to follow.
And there’s a triathlon. The training will be intense, the personal requirements and sacrifices huge. I don’t just want to finish the race. I want to finish strong! After that, I wish to also help other women to get stronger using the Savage Strength Training System. That’s the best thing I could ever do.

But know I am working over 100 (usually between 0345 untill 2130 every day) hrs a week, 7 days a week and am struggling to eat more then twice a day. I have lost 17 lbs in the last 4 months and am finding it very hard to maintain mass and strengh. I have been using your website and readin the articles since late 2006 and love the site. I am about to hit a seven week cycle break were I will only be working 10-12 hr days and plan on using every piece of my extra time to train and gain back what I have lost the past months and then some… I need something to help me in this small block of time, I have finished the critical bech program 3 times in the past 4 yrs and it was great….

I need to be strong now not just for me but my parents as well, we’ve lost our house and I can’t afford to be weak hearted around them. With all of the stress that comes from these situations it can make my body weak and I hate not being able to stand strong. I would stand up for them against anything or anyone, in all this FAITH AND FAMILY are the main reasons I NEED to be strong right now.

Of course, I do love to impress and show both friends and family just how strong I can be.

I would love to win a copy of savage strength to give my training an extra push, learn proper techniques, and of course, to develop savage strength!
I have already made a drastic lifestyle change, and want to add to that by learning from experts like Mike Westerdal. Strength. I want to get strong. Not only in my mind but my body too. Because when you are strong in mind and body, together, your strength is more than the sum of its parts. I long for greatness in every endeavor I take on. I believe we all have what it takes to develop power, but we have to be equally strong to accept when we don’t have the knowledge to get to that point as of today. In the same manner, it takes might to trust someone to guide you in your course to strengthen yourself from the inside out, from the very soul to your outer shell. From what little I have witnessed, I can blindly trust Mike Gillette to mentor my path to Savage Strength.

The Savage Strength training system would be an awesome thing for me to win. I plan on entering the military and (while I am already in shape) this program would help me become a warrior that people would be confident in. A warrior that would make people feel safe when they think of me guarding their country and it’s interests. I am already a decently large person, and people tend to listen in classes and in general when I speak up about things. When I go to my friends and those close to me about issues that need to be addressed, most times they listen. I think that this training system would help me become more confident, and be a better pillar of the community. I think it would help me stand out more for others as a positive role model. In the times that we are living in, a strong positive role model is not only needed badly, they are also a magnet for the “weak” to come to. They want someone to lead the, someone to emulate. In short, this program would help me become not only a physically stronger person, but also a mentally stronger person.

I’ve always been strong, strong in my sense of right from wrong. Needless to say that always landed me in the line of fire but no matter how many times that has happened I still find my self rushing to the aid of a person being bullied only to rewarded with a savage beating.
This is why I feel I need the SAVAGE STRENGTH program, not to seek revenge on those that have done me wrong or to pick fights with future hot heads. I feel it will give me the respect I need so that I won’t need to fight anyone. Though it is easy for people to lose control with power but I can assure u after being the foot that always got kicked, should the shoe be on the foot, I know better than anyone what it feels like to bulled so why would I want to repeat the cycle. I won’t instead I could guide the those who are stronger to protect those who are weaker, instead of abusing them.

Besides that I have an even more selfish reason for why I need to get strong, my best friend was beaten to with an inch of his life a few months ago. I know I could not have done anything if I was there in my current condition. But if I was stronger Iit all could have been prevented. This is my own selfish reason for why I need the SAVAGE STRENGHTH program, cause I don’t won’t to not be able to protect the people that I love.

I thank u for your consideration.

I am a 54 year old police officer on patrol on the streets of NYC. Because I train consistantly I am stronger and in better shape than most of my co-workers even those who are half my age. People sometimes ask if I train so that I am able to hurt people if need be. I answer them by saying that I train so that I wont have to hurt anyone. One who posesses great strength gives off an aura that others can pick up on and this usually has a calming effect on a tense situation. Even mentally ill violent people often will not be so agressive when faced with someone who is assured of himself and does not look scared or nervous. I do not understand why more people in law enforcement do not make this a priority in their aproach to doing their job. In this line of work, there are no second chances, so you are either prepared for what you are going to face or you are not. I wish you much success with your new program, and look foward to trying it myself.

  243. I must say that was a very inspiring article. I can see myself in the situations where I would be a calming factor, where I would show mercy, and where I would have the conviction to take a stand for what I believe in.

These are things I have desired my entire life. The dream of being strong, like a pillar, a rock, a force that can be relied on, has always been there. Unfortunately I have struggled with chronic fatigue syndrome most of my life, so that despite intensive study into the area of strength development, and diligent application of what I learned, I have never really developed much strength.

Maybe Savage Strength would change that and I could become the person I have dreamed about becoming my entire life!

For a program to provide not only “stability”, but through it “strength” as well, by giving guidance and encouragement to meet one’s goals and keeping focus on both progress and motivation to those ends is really great. Now retired it has been too easy for the mid-section tyre to develop, and for the grandsons to outstrip the “old-timer”! Savage Strength sounds just what is needed to whip me back into shape – I’d be your best walking bill-board for the program, given the chance!!

I hope i am lucky to win as i am a big fan of fitness, strength and plyometrics training. I’m 18 now and have been training for 2 years since i was 16, i have had to put up with simple, mediocre training advice from poorly trained fitness instructors for two years now, but i stopped listening after a couple of months as i found they only have basic knowledge and understanding.
So i have been training myself up with the knowledge and techniques i have experimented with throughout the two years.
As a sports student i have learnt alot about fitness training and human physiology and i can’t get enough of it, i love to see how the body adapts and changes through various types of exercise, and i think this savage strength training system will help me to understand and develop my knowledge of strength training to help develop me into a stronger version of me.

Actually, I am probably in better shape than I was in my twenties. I think that the Savage Strength program will help take me to that next level and make 2012 my best year ever, make me stronger at 36 than I was at my peak in my mid twenties.

I also have decided to start my personal training business back up and the knowledge I learn from this program will give me the confidence to make it successful. I want to share what I have learned and help people achieve the success that I have. I want to make 2012 the best year ever for myself, my family, and my community. Hi I’m Ben, 19, I’ve been training for just over 2 years now. I started off at 130 lbs, and I’m now currently sitting at 196 lbs. from about the age of 14 I’ve always been the biggest and strongest out of everyone I’ve know in my age group.

I started doing huge ammonts of resurch into strength training and training for muscle mass at the age of 17, I spent hours upon hours resurch inch and reading anything from interviews to scientific studies (when I probly should have been doing my college work)

Since that age I’ve always been looking into different ways of increasing my strength and size and I believe this program is the next step in my journey to becoming stronger. I’m not the sort of person who wants to build muscle just to look good, I’m not ‘all show and no go’. Unlike some of the people who attend the gym I use. One of them, I’m his last 30′s is much more defined, bigger and about 50bls heavier than me, but he only benches around 110lbs, where as I bench 242 lbs currently.

I think this program would be perfect for me to reach my goals, and I believe it will work, as it was written by someone who has worked in an industry where you need to be strong. I have bought a couple of program’s before (including hybrid muscle reloaded, and mad scientist) ad I would love to be able to add this program to my arsenal and include it in my yearly workout cycle.

I hold the school records of benching 405 (I got lucky I guess) I squatted 550 and I don’t remember my deadlift unfortunately. Despite all this I still feel weak, I feel like I have yet to learn what true strength really is and until then I will always be weak. I think a lot of my strength comes from the amount of confidence I have in my ability to lift, but lately I have not been so confident and have been feeling weaker. I am always constantly looking to get stronger and although i might not deserve it; I believe this book, Savage Strength, will help me more than anything, so I please let me be lucky enough to win. :)

I have looked at all the coments and many web sites in the passed few weeks and at 53 years of age and down from 18 1/2 stones to just on 15 stone I need the final ingredient to get ripped the Savage strength program seems to be the way to go to achieve this. In my line of work I need the strength I’ve now got but to get ripped as well would be the icing on the cake (short but to the point).
    Cheers Steve

Greetings to all You Strength seekers, I can only say, perseverance is part of the key, along w/Diet, technique, proper recovery & variation, along w/a mind set. I’m not saying I know it all after 34 years of weight training, cause an old dog can learn new tricks, but I’ve been very strong @ 240LBs, although, I felt I was too big for my 5’9.5″ Ectomorph frame. This year, I got down to 178LBs had abs, definition, but my strength went down the crapper. I’d lost about 1/4 of my strength, not to say I did look awesome @ the age of sixty, now I’ve gone up to 205, & I’m feeling strong as well as looking the part. My dilemma? How can I maintain that said strength, & lose twenty pounds of fat along w/maintaining my current strength levels? So I’m thinking perhaps, these guys have the answer to my question, that’s why I’d like to win.

The Savage Strength is in me
I just haven’t found it yet
I’m trying hard to keep fit,
(Not as fit as Mike Gillette)

    “Only the strong show mercy”
    The Samurai once said,
That saying struck a chord with me
    Its stuck inside my head.

    “Strength and Honor”: that one,
    Comes from the Roman legions
I start to see that Savage Strength
    Has many different meanings

Inner strength is just as great
As the physical we strive for
If Savage Strength can help me there
I’ll have a lot to aim for.

So Mike if you would be so kind
And in case you might forget,
Send a copy of the Savage Strength
Because I haven’t found it yet!

Apologies for the rhyming but the sentiment is sincere…

For all my life i have been told what i can and can not do. So when i told my friends that i was going to play football this year they just laughed and said i was too small and too weak to play. After hearing that i trained as hard as i could i just could not get bigger or stronger. If i won this program i might finally be able to get bigger and stronger so i could finally prove everyone wrong and get a spot on the team.

    Thanks

Why do I need Savage Strength Training System? Because I need savage strength. I live in Scotland, the butt of every joke about social violence, drug abuse and alcoholism throughout the UK and the western world. I live in Dundee city, the butt of every joke about stabbings, heroin addicts and sexual assault in Scotland.
This wasn’t my first choice: I walk through a derelict industrial estate on my walk to the bus stop every morning, before I get a bus into the fancy university of St Andrews, but I can’t live in St Andrews because of money: it was either move out of town or cancel my gym membership.

What, I don’t need Savage Strength? Try staying in shape while studying a degree in theoretical physics. Try studying a degree in theoretical physics while the fire department extinguish flames from arson on the smack-den next door. The local paper interviewed myself and my wife, but the story wasn’t good enough to get a mention even online, probably related to us being to scared to give our names. I grew up in the countryside where drunk teenagers fight with their fists, I live in a place where kids fight in the streets with swords and grown men who have never worked a day in their lives set each other alight over the £5 they needed for their next high. I need Savage Strength to defend and keep safe myself and my loved ones, because I need to be strong in the face of savagery.

I need to rehab my leg and get back to my daily workouts to be strong so I can continue to support my family. Sometimes I need a savage attitude backed by savage strength to get thru my workday. I often think I would have been more comfortable living in a different era. In a time where strength in all it’s guises commanded respect. When it was not an insult to carry something heavy for someone, it was just an easy and helpful thing to do. When a raised eyebrow from a strong person would be enough to close the loudest mouth.
Our time is not like that sadly. The majority view people who train to improve their bodies and consequently their lives as weird. Why would you kill yourself in the gym when there’s a new season of American Idol about to start and a six pack of Bud with your name on it?
The statistics keep pouring down on us like acid rain, corroding our spirit and dissolving our strength. Globally, we get fatter, weaker and sicker year by year. Can it be stopped?
One day at a time, one body at a time, maybe it can. I think those of who can see the mess we’re in have a duty to become as strong as we can be. To lead the way. Not all will follow of course. But we have to start no matter what. For me a programme focused on strength of body and mind would be a great option right now.
My kids see me throwing weights around, eating ‘crazy’ things like a 6 egg omelette and ask me why I do it. I answer honestly that I want to get stronger and stay stronger for as long as I can. I don’t expect a 7 and 5 year old to start doing bench presses and asking for a protein shake before bedtime ( although my youngest does always ask for a sip of mine ). I do however believe that the seed has been planted and when they reach the age where they can choose a path toward strength, health and mental fortitude, or toward obesity, sickness and lethargy, they will remember my actions and choose wisely.

As a career firefighter, strength is extremely important for the performance of my job. From carrying hose packs up flights of stairs wearing full gear to extricating victims from crushed vehicles to lifting 400-pound-plus patients, this job requires strength that could be considered extraordinary. Adrenaline only goes so far. I am about to turn 47 years old, and need something special to keep my strength up. I am also about to promote to Lieutenant, and definitely can relate to the emotional stress that you spoke of. I believe that this program is made-to-order for my situation, and I would love to be a “guinea pig” test subject to put this program (and thus myself) through the paces.
    Thank you for your consideration!!

I started lifting regularly when I turned 40. I have seen some good results in the last 5 years, but now I’ve turned my focus to strength. I want to lift lots of weight, but being in the military I also still need to run that infamous 2 miles.I’ve been doing alot of reading about power and speed( dead lifts, squats, bench, military press, and sprints). I did take your advice on proper benching technques to save my shoulders and get more power out of the bench press, and its working. So far I’ve added about 40 lbs to my bench without a spot(not the best practice I know, but you got to do what you got to do, right?) So my altimate goal is to keep lifting heavy and pass my 2 mile run. With some more of your help this will be possible, and then some.

    Mr. Gillette,

As you have talked about elsewhere, it is important to be strong. In fact it is REQUIRED to be strong. Not only in the physical sense, but in the mental and emotional sense as well.

I am enrolled in Marine ROTC and will be attending OCS this summer, I don’t want to just pass OCS, I want to dominate it. If my PT and strength levels are exceptional, that gives me that much more time to focus on the other challenging aspects of OCS.

I also realize that one day my strength could mean the difference between life or death for Marines that I lead, myself, or family members back home, I want to make SURE beyond a doubt that if put in these situations I will come out on top every time.

It is important for people to realize that they don’t just owe it to themselves to live strong, healthy lives. They owe it to others, they owe it to those people who could potentially need help.

    Thank you for this opportunity.

Medically discharged from active duty as a US ARMY soldier, due the stress of losing my 9 year old son to cancer. I was diagnosed myself with a cancerous tumor just 6 months after his passing. I had surgery, and chemo therapy. Later I developed severe symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Fibromyalgia. Talk about needing strength! thank God for the physical fitness training I had been involved with over the years in sports, weight training on my own, growing up and in the Army. Just before losing my son I had a P.T test score of 297 just 3 points shy of a perfect 300. I would be a fantastic fit of the Savage Strength Training program because I would use it daily to regain my strength after all the devastating events that have rocked my being. I would make it a part of my daily lifestyle to be a shining example to others that they too can overcome any trial and adapt to any of lifes trials. I used to be a fitness trainer years ago when I was healthy and strong, now I am lucky if I can do a few pullups but the Manifesto book looks as though it contains the Motivational Energy to get me up and running again. I extremely desire to get my physical and mental strength back to take care of my wife and 3 other sons, and to share this training knowledge on my fitness blog to all the world. thank you so much for this chance!

There is so much information out there on how to train and how to build real strength. Lift to failure, burn sets, high reps, low reps, big weights, light weights, mix with interval training, isolation or not isolation, triple ad sets, HIIT Circuit and the list goes on and on…

Is Savage Strength the only correct way? Probably not but when I read into it especially the part about NOT training to failure, it really turned a light on for me and I thought, Yep! This is the one! This feels right! I wanted to go to the gym straight away and give it a crack!

If Savage Strength can help me build real muscles that provide real, sustainable and long lasting power and not just “beach” muscles then I know I have made the right choice!

BTW, I won’t mind if I get a taste of the “beach” muscles as part of the process – we all love a good gun show! :-)

    Thanks! Cam

Here why I would recommand the savage training program to anybody because leading expertise from Mike and other wow what a super book to have and here is why I started training again I was a world champion power lifter and yea even though I am in my 40 and still very strong. I still dream of competing again but am living off of disabilty because of my head injuries so getting by in this life is hard to do or otherwise I would be the first in line to buy it. Anyway am also a strong woman competitor and was the second strongest woman in the west back in 2002. When I start getting back into competition I wanna train smarter and my goal is to bench 500 pounds yea wanna be the first woman to do so I have leg lifted 1000 pounds bench 260 and deadlifted 400. I truly believe with all of my heart if I win this I will be on my way to the top. Thank you Carrie Novikoff “Bear”

    Hi Mike,
I’m about starting my second half of life at this very moment; yes I turn 50.
Altough I’ve been working out most of my adult life and look and feel good I still can feel that tings are less easy then they use to be.
Since I’m arount lots of youngsters most of the time all I hear is that I’m losing it and finally get weaker and weaker.
As you can understand this does not suit me at all and I swore that I’ll find a way to even increase my strength as I get older. Ofcourse everyone around me thinks I should look reality deep into the eyes and let things go the way nature intend it to be.
Than I ran into your name on the web and found out that savage strength training is exactly what I was looking for.
I can’t wait to see these youngsters when they”ll find out that “the old man ” is getting stronger and stronger.
Whish you all the best in the world helping out others.
    Best regards,
    Tommy

The savage strength system is one of the most important things I’ve come across in my life. All my life, I have been working hard to have a super strength, and I’ve never gave up to have better strength. I’ve learn martial arts as a child and know what it take have a totally different level of strength. I learn myself through the course of martial art training strength is not for showing off or bullying other people, I only use my power in self-defense situation or protecting others. I think this system should work for me because I won’t miss-use the super power that someone gave to me and I will give in lots of efforts to gain this kind of strength. I want to experience a whole new me.

I already consider myself reasonably strong with a 500 plus pound squat and 600 plus pound deadlift, so I am always skeptical about “secrets” to get bigger, stronger, etc… I know that there is “nothing new under the sun” but I am always willing to learn. I have tried to research extensively, what is strength training and what works and what does not. I am also willing to speak highly and openly about what works for me and what does not. I would, indeed, be interested in this material and if it works, say so publically. If it does nto work (for me) I am also willing to speak to that issue. I pray this is good material. I am interested.

Hi guys, i know all too well what it felt like to be bullied at that age and i started lifting for the same reason you did. I’m 35 yrs, 200lbs now and no one picks on me anymore, except the wifey…lol. But seriously a structured training program is essential and i strongly believe that some, if not all the topics covered will bring value to my current regimen. I learnt form bit and pieces here and there and, were i to win a copy, I’d share the teachings with my son. he’s 13 and just as skinny as I was at his age and he wants to get big like his dad. I think that your book will be something we can both learn from and share. Sometimes good core family values aren’t enough to combat bullies and the like.
