This exercise is done on a leg press machine and works the calf muscles of the leg. Position yourself in the leg machine as you normally would but lower your feet until about two-thirds of your feet are below the platform. Push the platform up until your legs are almost straight and then, using just your toes, raise the platform as far as you can. Hold this position for a one-second count, return to the starting position and repeat until failure. Start without weight to get used to the movement so that you're using just your calf muscles.
