Kono's Corner - IN-SEASON SUPPLEMENT PROTOCOL

In Season Supplements I have been getting a lot questions about what supplements I take during the season and in each phase of my training so I decided to post exactley what, when and how much so you guys can have an idea and have a rough outline to start your own supplement protocol!

GOAL: To maximize recovery and
maintain strength

Wake up 7:00 am

1 centrum multi-vitamin
1 gram of CVS vitamin -c
1 serv. CVS triple strength joint fuel
5 grams of AST GL3 micronized glutamine
1 gram of PRIMAFORCE cla
1 Nature's Bounty fish oil soft gel
3 VPX cex caps (creatine ethyl ester hcl)
1 scoop of ERGO PHARM GF-PRO protein

9:00am team meetings

4 NUTRABOLICS AE2 caps
1 bottle of AMINO VITAL PRO
If tired IDS speed gel (caffeine) rarely though

12 noon post practice

5 grams of AST GL3 micronized glutamine
1 scoop of ERGO PHARM GF-PRO protien

2:00pm pre-workout

1 serv. BSN no-xplode
1 bottle of AMINO VITAL PRO

3:30pm post-workout

5 grams of AST GL3 micronized glutamine
1 EAS myoplex packet
3 VPX cex caps (creatine ethyl ester hcl)
4 NUTRABOLICS AE2 caps

7:00pm

1 gram of PRIMAFORCE cla
1 Nature's Bounty fish oil soft gel

BED

3 VPX cex caps (creatine ethyl ester hcl)
1 CYTOSPORT MUSCLE MILK protien serv.
5 grams of AST GL3 micronized glutamine
4 PRIMAFORCE ZMA caps
1/2 serv CVS triple strength joint fuel
1 gram CVS vitamin c

There you have it this protocol is pretty much set in stone. The only thing that may very is the brands. I only hit the gym 3 times a week during the season sometimes only twice if we have a short week. On those days I take out the pre-workout supplements but keep the post workout supplements at the same time. But after 8 years of pro-football this program makes a huge difference in recovery and keeps my strength through out the season.

Look for the rest my supplement protocols in the next weeks! Post season recovery phase May 15- June 30 Lookin good for the summer phase July 1- Sept. 1 ( gotta enjoy the beach!) Offseason training phase Oct. 1 - Jan. 1
